Welcome to Knight Frank’s Europa Cities Guide

We are pleased to introduce our second edition of the Europa Cities Guide following the successful launch of the first edition last year. In our latest edition, we focus on where and why people are looking to re-explore our European hotspots, the excitement, culture, and energy our vibrant European cities provide, as well as the fantastic investment opportunities. City house prices are rising by an average of 11.5% per year, the fastest rate since Q3 2004, and now outpacing their national markets according to Knight Frank's Global Cities Index Q1 2022. City dynamism is regaining its strength after being greatly maligned during the pandemic as the 'race for space' story took hold.

In this publication, we look at why the city is far from over, with our experts anticipating a renewed desire for the excitement, culture, and life that our lively European cities provide, not to forget, of course, the fantastic investment opportunities available. The head of Knight Frank Research, Liam Bailey, provides insight into developers' and consumers' views on how sustainability influences luxury real estate. We visit Vienna to discover what is being done to transform its densely urbanized areas and buildings in a sustainable and future-oriented manner. As part of the tour, we will take a closer look at the historic Das Artmann building, whose renovation is taking place in an environmentally friendly way, and explore the 12 city hotspots that offer prime investment opportunities. We hope you enjoy this report, its key trends, and the exciting future of our European cities, but as we all know – cities never sleep for long. Should you have any queries, please get in touch. We will be glad to assist you with any questions you may have.
