Welcome to Knight Frank’s Cotswolds Spotlight Magazine This magazine is our very first publication dedicated entirely to the Cotswolds. For the people who live and work in this area, including our Knight Frank people, we understand that the Cotswolds are more than just a location – they’re a way of life. We decided it was time to share this beautiful region of the country with you and showcase the very finest in Cotswold property and living. In this first issue, we take a deep dive into the locations and lifestyle offered by our six office bases that cover the length and breadth of the Cotswolds in Cirencester, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham, Bath, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. We’ve also put the spotlight on five thriving Cotswolds-based businesses to understand more about what makes this area so lucrative when you have the right idea, as well as a Q&A with Jonathon Bramwell and Harry Gladwin from The Buying Solution team on the services they offer that will make your move to the Cotswolds as seamless as possible.

Of course, a distinguishing feature of the Cotswolds is the number of farms and estates that populate the area. We sat down with the Blenheim Estate Director Roy Cox to discuss what it means to manage an estate of such scale and historical importance in the modern day, and how to protect its legacy for future generations. Last, but by no means least, we caught up with mountaineer and adventurer Kenton Cool, a man who explores the furthest corners of the world, but has still chosen to call the Cotswolds home. The launch of this magazine is timely given the huge rise in interest and enquiries in the Cotswolds over recent months, sparked undoubtedly by the pandemic, periods of lockdown and subsequent reflection we have collectively experienced. We know the Covid-19 pandemic has made us think about how we operate as a business, and where our clients choose to buy and live has been influenced by shifts towards more flexible ways of working, how we school our children, and the pursuit of the ideal work-life balance. We hope you enjoy Cotswolds Spotlight and learning more about our beautiful region – just occasionally, the grass really is greener. Peter Edwards Partner – Cotswolds and Central region
