WELCOME TO CHELTENHAM

The most complete Regency town in the UK and voted the Best Place to Live in the South West 2020 by The Sunday Times, Cheltenham sits at the foot of the Cotswold escarpment, enjoying immediate access to the rolling hills that surround the town and the spectacular views they offer

The Georgian architecture sets the scene in Cheltenham's town centre, with open green squares and streets shaded by lines of mature trees and parks, providing residents with a beautiful place to work, live, and play. Beyond the centre, smaller suburbs and pretty Cotswold villages such as Winchcombe, Brockhampton, Sevenhampton and Cowley offer larger more modern housing options and traditional cottages, as well as access to the nearby open countryside. The amenities in the town are abundant. Numerous leisure facilities include the famous racecourse, a wide selection of wine bars, gastro pubs and Michelin-starred fine-dining. Cheltenham has grown organically over the past 250 or so years, developing in charm and character. Today this makes it attractive to a whole cross-section of homebuyers, whether they are from the local market, other prominent towns, London or abroad.

Every day we see this variety of people seeking to buy here – be it for the architecture, the different lifestyles on offer, a safer environment to raise children, a better work-life balance, or as a place to relax and retire to. The excellent schooling options here, including the world-renowned Cheltenham College and Cheltenham Ladies College, make this town and surrounding area particularly popular with families. In the past 12 months we’ve helped people sell and buy a range of homes in the area, such as townhouses, apartments and country houses. More recently, due to the desire for greater outdoor space and country living on the rise due to the pandemic, Cheltenham has seen a big increase in potential buyers. Our approach is powerful in that we pool the experience and expertise of all our Cheltenham team to help buyers find the right property and sellers find the right buyer, all for the right price.

The town is home to young and adolescent-aged families, many of whom say they work in the professional sectors, as well those who commute to London regularly for work.

The splendour of the open Cotswold countryside is there to be explored at the edge of the town.

Popular for days out among local people, Cheltenham's residents are right on the doorstep of the Cotswolds, which expands eastwards into Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. Rolling hills, quaint properties made of local honey-coloured limestone known as Cotswold stone, and traditional drystone walls dot the landscapes of this beautiful area. Cheltenham is overlooked by Cleeve Hill, the highest peak of the Cotswold Hills and the highest point in Gloucestershire. Cleeve Hill covers Cheltenham’s north-eastern ridge and connects the area with nearby Winchcombe, home to Sudeley Castle and Gardens. Leckhampton Hill also sits just outside of Cheltenham and is part of the Cotswold Way, offering spectacular views, while nearby the sheer drop of Cooper’s Hill in Brockworth is home to the annual infamous cheese rolling race!

Aside from being well-connected to the rest of the UK, schooling – both state and private – is some of the best in the region.

Educational institutions are excellent in Cheltenham, with a range of high-quality state, grammar and public schooling options, including Pate’s, Cheltenham College and Cheltenham Ladies. Transport links by road to other major cities are easy to access, via the M5 (J11 and 11a) or the A417 at Swindon, to the M4. By train, London can be reached in two hours via Paddington, while for air travel, airports such as Bristol, Heathrow and Gloucestershire (for small aircraft) are all easily accessible.
